2005 BMW 3 Series E90 SE from UK and Ireland
I do not find the new 3 (e90) to be ugly at all. Some of you folks just need to get with the times. When the new 5 came out I thought it was ugly too, but over the years it has grown on me and now I rather see it as a work of art, really. When the 5 series came out it was ahead of it's time.
And just look at Benz and Lexus/Toyota now copying the Bangle-Butt.
The new 3-series is modern looking and can you really fault BMW with making it somewhat bland than radical looking?

Yes, sad to say, but the Bangle butt has now become an automotive trend. Who'dve thunk it?
But I still think the 5 series is hideously ugly. One magazine compared its front to the face of Dame Edna and I agree.
BMW Group hopes to meet sales target
The BMW Group has delivered 1,244,775 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand automobiles worldwide up to the end of November this year, it was announced yesterday.
Compared with the corresponding period last year this is an increase of 33,654 vehicles, or 2.8%.
In November, the BMW Group sold 114,321 automobiles, which marks a rise of 0.3% compared with the same month last year.
"This year, in spite of the model changes for the MINI, BMW X5 and BMW 3 Series Coupé, we have set the ambitious goal to achieve a new sales record again," said Dr Michael Ganal, member of the board of management of BMW AG responsible for sales and marketing.
"We will meet this goal and thus remain the world's leading supplier of premium automobiles," he explained while observing that the models directly affected by the changes represent almost a third of the total sales of the BMW Group.
Detroit Preview: BMW To Unveil 3 Series Cabrio
DETROIT — BMW began circulating photos of its redesigned 3 Series convertible in October. But the driving public won't get its first in-person glimpse of the new retractable-hardtop car until early January, when the car makes its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. BMW's NAIAS display also will include the redesigned X5 utility vehicle and the Hydrogen 7, which the company describes as the world's first hydrogen-powered luxury sedan. The car's 6.0-liter V12, modified to run on either gasoline or hydrogen, delivers 260 horsepower. The 3 Series convertible, which goes on sale in the spring, tops out with the 335i, powered by a twin-turbocharged inline-6 that delivers 306 hp. What this means to you: Seems like everyone is jumping into retractable hardtops these days.
2006 British International Motor Show
LONDON — BMW has unveiled the soft-top version of its M6 supercar at the British International Motor Show. This is the first time BMW's M division has produced a version of the 6 Series convertible, and it's the first time the German manufacturer has chosen to launch a new model in the U.K. A wind-in-the-hair version of BMW's acclaimed M6 Coupe, the convertible is powered by M-power's 4,999cc V10 engine, developing a not-insignificant 500 horsepower. Even with the added mass of the powered convertible roof, this car is still capable of sprinting from zero to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph but BMW claims that it would top 200 mph were it unrestricted. A seven-speed sequential manual gearbox is standard, allowing the driver to change gears using steering wheel-mounted paddles.

BMW will provide police cars for Hampshire Police exclusively. While the Constabulary is a long-standing BMW customer the decision to switch exclusively to BMW has only recently been announced. Most of the cars have already been prepared and are ready for service.

IL Exclusive: 2008 BMW 7 Series Will Be Smaller, Sportier and
MUNICH — The current BMW 7 Series is a sales success, especially in North America and Asia, but its controversial looks have been a downer for the luxury brand. Not surprisingly, the appearance of the flagship will be changed with the next-generation model as insider sources tell Inside Line the next 7 Series, coming in late 2008, will be less radical-looking, smaller and sportier. The next 7 Series is in the works now, under code name "F01" for the standard 7 and "F02" for the long-wheelbase version, which will reportedly be about 5.5 inches longer. Major changes are to the rear end, which will have wraparound lights and a more sculptured look. From the side, there will be three creases rather than the current two, and door handles are positioned lower. The shift lever will be moved to a more traditional location on the transmission tunnel.
